Where I live winter has settled upon us and it doesn't seem like it's leaving any time soon. It is easy to see why bears hibernate. The lack of sunshine give me the urge to hibernate too. I think that you have to take this slow period and turn it around into something positive for yourself. I realized that successful weight loss involves giving yourself a positive identity and in doing so you have to do 3 things. First, you must change your environment. Get rid of the foods that cause you to overeat, change your eating habits or do something different involving your food environment. Secondly you have to change your perception of your weight loss efforts. Visualize your success and your ability to lose weight. This is the power of positive thinking at work. When you see yourself achieving little goals you make for yourself you will see your ability to accomplish the bigger goal. Last of all you must change your behavior patterns and how you react to outside influences. Stay focused on your goal. Resist negative behaviors and substitute with positive ones that will help you find weight loss success. You will soon find yourself with a positive identity. The first of two articles to help you this week is about treadmills and how great they are to keep you moving and the second article is about how there really is no such thing as cheating on your diet .Until next week...stay on your plan and stay healthy! Pat To lose weight faster, reduce your intake of caffeine. Caffeine leads to an increase of insulin in your body that retards the burning of your stored fat. This is a simple chemical reaction in your body that you can change. Reduce your caffeine intake by 50% and see what happens.
Exercise boosts motivation to lose weight.
