Hi,

Welcome to all of our new subscribers, I'm glad you're here. To all of our old subscribers I'm glad you're here too!

I hope everyone had a wonderful week. I know I've been having a tougher time lately sticking with my program. Things like Valentine's Day or going to the movies (popcorn) make me take backwards steps when dieting. This newsletter and the thought that all of you are going through the same things really helps me to stay focused and motivated. Even if you stray a little just hop right back on the pathway to successful weight loss.

And what is your path? There are so many weight loss programs out there. And the truth of the matter is that the simplest weight loss formula is to take in fewer calories than you use. This can be achieved through becoming more physically active or by eating less. Weight loss programs that include more physical activities and decrease the amount of calories that you eat is most likely to lead to successful weight loss. Good luck on whatever you use.

Be sure to read the articles on fast foods and suggestions on the best foods for healthy eating.

Until next week...stay on your plan and stay healthy!

Easy Tip Of The Week:

Don't skip meals. A full stomach means less temptation.

Exercise

So, you've just started exercising. Beware of overdoing it! If you work out too vigorously, too soon, you may intend to burn more calories more quickly, but in the end it will sap you of energy and could lead to an over-training injury. Start out slow and build up. Don't fall into the "if-I-don't-do-it-for-at-least-30-minutes-it-doesn't-count" trap... 10 minutes of exercise is far better than 10 minutes of being a couch potato.

Recipe

Fat Free Applesauce Spice Cake
1/2 C. molasses
1 C. applesauce
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 3/4 C flour
2 tsp. ginger (optional)

Combine the molasses and applesauce in a large bowl. Combine remaining ingredients and stir into the liquid. If batter seems very dry, add a little more applesauce or a little water. Bake in a nonstick or pan sprayed 8x8 inch baking pan, in a 350° F. oven for 30-45 minutes or until it tests done.

The optional ginger makes an acceptable gingerbread. Or you can leave out the ginger and add 3-7 Tbsp. of cocoa to make a tasty but not very sweet or rich chocolate cake
