Hi,

Welcome to all of our new subscribers, I'm glad you're here. To all of our old subscribers I'm glad you're here too!

There are so many weight loss programs out there you need to keep in mind that to lose weight effectively, you will have to permanently change four aspects of your life:

1.  What you eat.

2.   How you eat.

3.   Your behavior.

4.   Your activity level.

You should also ask yourself how long you can live this way. If you can’t imagine staying on a particular plan until you reach your goal weight, try something else. Going on and off the same plan again and again leads to yo-yo dieting.

I know that sometimes it is hard to stay motivated to exercise and I happened across an excellent program that will help you learn to love exercise. You may want to take a look at it here. Fitness is so important to your weight loss efforts.

Be sure to read the article called Getting F.I.T.T. Is Easy.  I've also included an article with information on Ways To Fit Fitness In Your LifeHave a good week!

Until next time...stay on your plan and stay healthy!

Easy Tip Of The Week:

When Choosing A Diet Include:

  • Regular fruits and vegetables
  • Good quality fats - especially omega-3 essential fatty acids
  • Sufficient carbs
  • Good quality protein low in saturated fat
  • Plenty of fiber

Because all these foods help to keep you healthy while you lose weight and help you to develop good eating habits for life.

Exercise

Stretching prior to getting started warms up the muscles before they are exposed to hard work and strain. It protects and prevents injury; your muscles will be more pliable and able to withstand the heavier strain and deeper stretch a training session will place on them after stretching. Stretching increases your range of motion, making it easier to move thus avoiding injury.

Recipe

Apple Stuffed Pork Chops

INGREDIENTS:

5 tablespoons port or other sweet red wine, divided
2 cups diced peeled Granny Smith apple
2/3 cup chopped pitted dried plums
1/4 cup chopped pistachios
2 tablespoons chopped fresh or 2 teaspoons dried thyme
2 teaspoons brown sugar
8 (6-ounce) lean bone-in center-cut pork chops (about 3/4 inch thick), trimmed
1 teaspoon salt, divided
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Cooking spray
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 (14 1/2-ounce) can fat-free, less-sodium chicken broth

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Combine 2 tablespoons port, apple, and next 4 ingredients (apple through sugar), stirring well.
  2. Cut a horizontal slit through thickest portion of each pork chop to form a pocket. Stuff about 1/4 cup apple mixture into each pocket. Sprinkle pork evenly with 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper.
  3. Heat a large nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray over medium-high heat; add 4 pork chops. Cook 7 minutes on each side or until done. Remove pork from pan; keep warm. Repeat procedure with remaining pork.
  4. Combine 1/2 teaspoon salt and flour in a medium bowl, stirring with a whisk. Gradually add 3 tablespoons port and broth, stirring with a whisk. Add mixture to pan, scraping pan to loosen browned bits. Bring to a simmer over low heat; cook 5 minutes or until thick, stirring constantly. Serve sauce with pork.
