Welcome to all of our new subscribers, I'm glad you're here. To all of our old subscribers I'm glad you're here too!

Look better, feel better, live longer: what's your diet motivation? Everyone has there own personal reason to lose weight and that is the only reason you should lose weight. FOR YOUR OWN PERSONAL REASONS. Only you, not for someone else. That is when you will find success in dieting.

It does get tough to stay on an eating plan especially if you have a lot of weight to lose but it can be done. Here a few tips to stay focused.

  1. Don't deprive yourself. If you want dessert go ahead and have it. Nothing kills a diet more than depriving yourself. Just remember moderation.

  2. Spice up your diet with a variety of herbs and spices so you don't get bored.

  3. Take a walk after your meal. It will leave you feeling calm and contented.

  4. Learn yoga for an inner sense of peace. The slow moving stretches and movements will help you immensely.

  5. Create a food journal. Besides including the food you eat daily, add things like poems, thoughts on how you feel and written goals. This will give you a great motivation to fall back on when the diet gets tough.

Recipe

SHRIMP SCAMPI SKEWERS

Ingredients
1  pound fresh or frozen medium shrimp in shells (26 to 30)
1  tablespoon margarine or butter
1  tablespoon olive oil or cooking oil
2  cloves garlic, minced
3  tablespoons dry white wine
2  tablespoons snipped fresh parsley
1/2  teaspoon finely shredded lemon peel
1/8  teaspoon ground black pepper
6   green onions, cut into 1-inch pieces
1  large red sweet pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces

 

Directions
1. Thaw shrimp, if frozen. Peel shrimp, leaving tails intact. Devein shrimp. Place margarine or butter and oil in a small saucepan; melt over medium-high heat. Add garlic and cook 2 minutes; remove from heat. Stir in wine, parsley, lemon peel, and ground pepper; set aside.
2. Thread shrimp, green onion pieces, and pepper pieces onto 6-inch long appetizer skewers. (If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before planned grilling time to prevent scorching.) Brush with garlic mixture.
3. Grill the skewered shrimp and vegetables on a grill rack directly over medium heat for 6 to 8 minutes or until shrimp turn pink, turning once and brushing with garlic mixture halfway through grilling. Serve immediately. Makes 15 to 20 appetizer servings.
