Well I say you should combine walking with healthy eating habits and a daily dose of support (which you can get right here) - and you have the perfect recipe for weight loss and improved health. When walking you should: Keep your head up, your shoulders back and focus your eyes straight ahead. Swing your arms back and forth and keep them close to your body. Pull your stomach in and push your hips forward so you're standing straight. Take short, fast strides powered by your hips. Land on your heels and push off your toes. Keep walking and your diet will take off running. Be sure to read the article on the top ten tips to keep motivated. I've also included an article with information on body fat, eating and exercise. Have a good week! Until next time...stay on your plan and stay healthy! Pat The solution to incorporating your cooking into your diet is to keep making your recipes, but make them over into a low fat, lower sugar format. Use little or no oil, substitute cream with low fat yogurt and substitute herbs and spices for salt in recipes. Trim all visible fat from meats before cooking and choose low fat cereals and breads. Your family won’t even notice the difference, except that they will probably all feel better!
Find time for exercise! Healthy people manage to fit daily exercise into their daily routine! Fit exercise into your day by getting up half an hour earlier (you really won’t miss that half-hour sleep) or at lunchtime (up and down the stairs if it’s raining) or after work at a gym, on an exercise bike or treadmill. "Your life is not a rehearsal. Don't leave it without giving it your all."
Cheddar Topped Stuffed Potatoes (Low Fat)2 medium-size baking potatoes Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Scrub potatoes; pat dry. Using fork, pierce each potato in several places. Cut potatoes lengthwise in half; using teaspoon, carefully scoop potato flesh into medium-size bowl, leaving 1/8-inch layer of flesh attached to skin. Set potato shells aside. With potato masher or heavy fork, mash together potato flesh, cottage cheese, yogurt and dill until well blended. Stir in chopped scallions. Spoon mixture lightly into shells; place in shallow baking dish. Bake 10 to 15 minutes until filling is hot. Sprinkle tops of potatoes with grated Cheddar and sliced scallions. Serve immediately.
