Welcome to all of our new subscribers, I'm glad you're here. To all of our old subscribers I'm glad you're here too!

Life happens and sometimes its hard to stay motivated. I know some of us may fall of the path of our healthy eating plans. There are some things you can do to help you get back on it.

  1. A reliable way to keep your appetite from getting out of control is to incorporate good sources of protein into your meals. Include cottage cheese, eggs or yogurt with breakfast.  Have peanut butter for snacks. Include meat, poultry or even beans into your lunch and dinners.

  2. Here is a little trick I learned. Start cutting down everything you normally eat into halves. Only 1 tsp of sugar instead of 2 in your coffee. Only use one piece of bread for an open faced version of your favorite sandwich. See what other things you can cut down by half.

  3. Eat more fruits. Try substituting fruit for desserts.

  4. Veggies are great. One day a week eat only a veggie diet. Be creative in your choice.

These may sound like small things, but they really do matter in the big picture of making changes you can stick with. Add them together with your bigger changes and it all adds up to a fresh start.!

  • Can you accept mistakes without giving up altogether?

Recipe

Banana Split Cake

Serves 12

  • 1 Prepared Angel food Cake
  • 1 Package of fat-free, sugar free Jell-O Vanilla Pudding-Instant, prepared
  • 4 medium bananas
  • 4 cups of strawberries
  • 2 tubs of Cool Whip Free

Prepare  the pudding as directed on the box. Cut all fruit into bite sized pieces. Cut the angel food cake into bite sized pieces. Separate all ingredients in half. Layer ingredients in the following order: half of the angel food cake, half of the pudding, half of the bananas, half of the cool whip, half of the strawberries. Repeat the layer with the second half of ingredients. Enjoy
