Hello Everyone,

Welcome to all of our new subscribers, I'm glad you're here. To all of our old subscribers I'm glad you're here too!

Did you have a good week? I hope so. Mine was kind of up and down. Sometimes they go like that. I have good intentions but the follow through isn't always there. Can anybody relate to that?

Follow through is an important thing. In baseball you have to follow through with your swing to get your full power into the bat. In bowling you have to follow through when you release the ball to make sure it goes straight. When planting a flower you have to follow though with water and sunlight to make it grow.  It's the same for dieting...to be successful you have to follow through. Make goals, eat the right foods, and follow through with some exercise.

Sounds simple, but both you and I know that it's harder than it sounds. So that's why we're here to follow through together. I know this newsletter helps me and I hope that it helps you too.

I've included a motivational poem which I thought was inspiring. It's a good idea to print it out and post it somewhere so you can see it when you need some extra help.

Easy Tip Of The Week:

REACHING YOUR FAT-LOSS GOALS may be easier than you think. To lose a pound a month, all you need to do is cut 100 calories a day from your diet, assuming the calories consumed and burned remains the same. That's because a pound of body fat is equal to about 3,500 calories. So if you cut 100 calories a day for 31 days, you're cutting 3,100 calories--or about a pound.

Some examples of 100 calorie items:

  • Eat 2 poached eggs instead of 2 fried ones.
  • Substitute a piece of fruit for a candy bar.
  • Replace a can of regular soda with a can of diet soda.
  • Pass on a second helping of mashed potatoes.

See how easy it is?  Before you know it the weight will be dropping off and at the same time you will have healthier eating habits.

Exercise

Many people unconsciously hold their breath while stretching. This causes tension in their muscles, which in turn makes it very difficult to stretch. To avoid this consciously make the effort to breathe slowly and easily during your stretching exercises.

Breathing promotes blood flow and increases the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to your muscles. Additionally, breathing slowly and easily helps to relax your muscles, which makes stretching easier and more beneficial to your system. This will ensure that your stretching is safe, and that you achieve the greatest possible benefits from exercise.

Recipe

Chocolate Pecan Coffee   

1/2 cup medium grind pecan coffee
1 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
5 cups water
3 Tbsp. chocolate syrup

Combine first 3 ingredients in the basket of drip coffee maker. Place water in pot and prepare according to manufacturers directions. Stir in chocolate syrup.
