Hi,

Welcome to all of our new subscribers, I'm glad you're here. To all of our old subscribers I'm glad you're here too!

Have you hit on one of those plateaus where the scale just seems to be stuck at the same number for weeks at a time? If you're there, don't panic... it's only a temporary situation. Sometimes our bodies may get in a sort of "rut" and doing the same old, same old just seems to stop working. Don't let this situation stop you dead in your tracks. Now is not the time to give up! Here are a few tips that are helpful in breaking through  weight loss plateaus:

  1. Be honest with yourself about cheating. Maybe you don't realize you're eating things you shouldn't be such as nibbling while you're cooking or eating without even thinking about it.  Make sure you keep your food diary during the plateau to see what you are really eating.

  2. Maybe you are not eating enough. Many times when you are dieting too strict, the body wants to keep all the calories it is taking in so you won't shed the pounds.

  3. Pump some iron. It will help you tone your body first and then the pounds will come off.

  4. Eat some food you shouldn't. Once a week it may give your metabolism the boost it needs.

  5. It may be that the body is turning the fat into muscle with increased exercise and establishing a faster metabolism rate. Be patient and don't be discouraged. Know that you are doing the right things.

Be sure to read the article on nutrition has everything to do with health. I've also included an article with information on a book review of "Turn Off The Fat Genes"Have a good week!

Until next time...stay on your plan and stay healthy!

Easy Tip Of The Week:

Be careful with salad dressings, mayonnaise on sandwiches, and other condiments that are high in fat content. They can easily counter the healthy aspects of a meal. Remember, a gram of fat contains more than twice as many calories as a gram of protein or carbohydrate.
