Welcome to all of our new subscribers, I'm glad you're here. To all of our old subscribers I'm glad you're here too!

As the holiday season gets closer and closer, I really want to keep my weight loss progress on target. I don't want to wipe out the efforts I've made. Very often during the holiday season I tend to forget about dieting until January. I don't know about you but that idea is really bad. It makes some bad habits. I want to do something different this year.

I've been thinking about trying the Weight Watchers program for a while. After reading that inspiring story I told you about last week it may be the thing for me. They have a new program that you can join on line or you can go to the weekly meetings to get that in person support. After checking the program out, I think what Weight Watchers program promotes is that in order to be successful in weight loss you have to look upon it as a lifestyle change and not just a diet.

I know my problem with weight loss failure is that often I think I have to be perfect and give up everything that I like to eat. The real key to success is to eat what you want but control the portions. With the Weight Watchers program, it gives you the option of really eating anything you want but you have to keep track of it so you don't lose control. Easy Tip Of The Week:

If you find yourself reaching for something yet you're questioning whether or not you really do want it or should be eating it....maybe you don't really want it......wait 10 minutes. After that, if you still want it....then have it. The fact that you waited and thought about it is a sign of success, it's a step in the right direction and it's a behavior change. The fact that you put more thought into what you're eating and why is very important.

Congratulate yourself for that and enjoy without guilt.

Exercise

For the greatest overall health benefits, experts recommend that you do 20 to 30 minutes of aerobic activity three or more times a week and some type of muscle strengthening activity and stretching at least twice a week.

Recipe

Chicken Noodle Casserole

  • 1 10 3/4 oz can of 98% fat free cream of chicken soup, undiluted

  • 1/2 c fat free mayonnaise

  • 2 TBSP lemon juice

  • 2 c cubed, cooked chicken (I just used 2 boneless, skinless breasts)

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 1/4 c chopped green pepper

  • 1/4 c chopped sweet red pepper

  • 1 c fat free shredded cheddar

  • 1 c fat free shredded mozzarella

  • 12 oz medium egg noodles, cooked and drained

In a large bowl, combine soup, mayo and lemon juice.
Add the chicken, onion, peppers, 1/2 of each cheese and mix well.
Add noodles and toss to coat.
Transfer to a sprayed casserole dish.
Bake at 350* for 30-35 minutes.
Sprinkle with remaining cheese and bake for another 10 min. or until vegetables are soft.

6 large servings (close to 2 cups each)
