Hi,

Welcome to all of our new subscribers, I'm glad you're here. To all of our old subscribers I'm glad you're here too!

I was thinking about something to write about this week and my daughter suggested I talk about weight loss support. I know this newsletter is a type of support. Maybe it helps you to get the tips or read some of the articles or just to know that somebody out there is going through the same thing as you.

But there is also support from the people around you. It's great to have a diet buddy that you can call when you feel your will power slipping or when you want someone to take a walk with. That is good support and it really is a great help. It helps to go through things together.

There is also bad support. What do I mean by that? Well I don't know abut you but I hate when I tell people I'm on a diet and then they are like "DIET WARDENS", watching what you eat and saying "I thought you were on a diet?" I know they mean well but that really irks me. Or other times someone around you may say "You've been so good on your diet that one donut won't hurt you."  Now that is not good support at all because I know it could make a good day go bad.

I hope all of you get the good support you need.

Exercise

If you dread exercising regularly make yourself mini-goals to strive for. If you use a treadmill or walk for exercise, give yourself a reward if you reach 50 miles. The reward should be something non-food such as some new makeup or maybe a good book or a pedicure. It may seem trivial but it does help.

Recipe

Tuna Pita Sandwiches

Ingredients:

6 oz tuna in water, drained
1/4 cup fat-free salad dressing or mayonnaise
1/4 cup non-fat plain yogurt
1/2 cup diced celery
1/4 cup diced red onion
6 pita pocket bread


Directions:

In mixing bowl, combine tuna, salad dressing or mayonnaise, yogurt,
celery and onion; blend thoroughly. Cut pita bread in halves. Stuff
tuna mixture into pita pockets. 1.5 grams fat per serving.

Servings: 6
