Regardless of your religion, this time of year is traditionally one of more intense spirituality and introspection. You can look back at what you've done (or not done) over the last 12 months and be proud, disappointed, and above all, thankful that you're alive and able to reflect. It's also a time when you can look ahead to next year, with a clean slate on the horizon, and plan, dream, and make ready for whatever goals you're setting for yourself. For the next week enjoy your family, friends, and loved ones and spread the spirit of Christmas to whoever you meet. Don't focus on food and eating, focus on the joy of the season and your blessings. Here is a nice poem on the spirit of Christmas. I apologize if this issue isn't too much on dieting and weight loss. We'll be making it up for it soon. Decide which foods to try and take reasonable portions. Spend some time with your family this Holiday season — skiing, skating, snow shoeing, sledding or even build a snowman.
